Adding a Carrier

1. When you first enter the Carrier option a Select An Option window will appear with the following options:

 

Scroll to ADD and press Enter to confirm your selection.

2. In the Carrier field, enter a six-character ID for the carrier.

3. In the Name field, enter the carrier's company name.

4. (Optional) Assign the carrier's contact information, phone numbers, fax number, etc.

5. Enter the freight type for this carrier in the Freight Type field. Press F3 for a list of freight types. Scroll to the appropriate freight type and press Enter to confirm your selection.

6. Assign the carrier to a route. Press F3 for a route list. (This route will override any routes assigned to a customer in Customer Maintenance.)

Note: Assigning a route is optional. If the route is not assigned, the route used for the customer will be the route set as the default route.

8. Specify an optional "pickup point" (where the carrier is to pick up a product) and whether a bill of lading (BOL) is needed for this carrier.

9. (Optional) Add notes, as necessary.

10. Command options will appear:

Select Add.

Press Enter in the Carrier field if you wish to stop adding records.
